Hi! I’m Bridget, and I’m so obsessed with the kitchen and all it represents – the food, the cooking, the kitchen tools around, and in no particular order!

There are very few things I love more than cooking and handling kitchen products. I’m hardly an amateur home cook, so culinary stuff is something I’m terrifyingly excited about. Where I grew up, it was easy to explore with different ingredients, whether of low quality or high quality, and then stress out about the meal afterwards. Playing with flavors was the highlight of my days.

For the Love of Food!

Although I would not say that my family was a specific type of cooking family, neither did any of my parents have to attend culinary school, but I remember starting to cook at a young age. Savoring meals was paramount, and it made me extremely open-minded to everything regarding wholesome food.

A typical day for me is one where I get to explore a recipe while fascinating myself with a new or existing kitchen tool, get my family deliciously fed, and then scorn at the giant mess made in the process.

There is this food philosophy I have that enables my daily push in food perfection. I can control what my family and I eat in the house; therefore, every meal needs to taste great. It needs to be savored, and the nutrients need to be what the body desires. It merely has to be enjoyed!

With getting married, the joy of cooking intensified so much, so it became a full-time job. I would daydream about new recipes and then wake to devour cookbooks like they are novels. It is all the inspiration I need to dash into the kitchen and come up with a healthy and tasty meal.

Having my own family empowered me to invest much in food researches about what ingredients or flavors are safe, how they are safe, including the tools in preparing them, and why they are safe.

For the Love of Kitchen Tools!

Not only did this make me spend more time in the kitchen, which I embraced, but I also had to spend more time with the kitchen tools. While I have enjoyed cooking, the summary of my experiences quickly got me enthused over the kitchen tools that go into preparing the meals. Also, partly because when cooking, the right kitchen equipment will go a long way and should never be compromised.

I started getting fussy about these tools that I allow to live rent-free in my kitchen. I found that there are some products I’m particularly fond of, even until they get worn, and for these, I can barely function without them! Every time I use them, they make me happy. Think cutting board or measuring cups. There are also kitchen tools that I am not so much a fan of, but I kind of have to own.

In these present times, we have modern gadgets like electric knives, electric can openers, and the likes that have already formed an integral part of our daily cooking process. For me, not a lot of these make culinary life as easy as expected because often, simple is just better!

After I separated the gadgets into categories – those that are the real workhorses in my kitchen and those that ease their ways into my lives just for effect, my sorting and cooking stages became simplified. I found that I could just as well simplify cooking for my friends, families, and everyone around me.
